I am Professor Emerita, Johns Hopkins University. For 10 years I have conducted research in schools about teaching vocabulary, discourse, reading comprehension, and writing skills integrated into all subjects for Long-Term ELs/Newcomers. My ExC-ELL Whole-School approach includes PD for administrators & coaches on how to coach and support teachers. My team and I work with schools, districts, and State Departments of Education, as well as international sites.
