Lisa Lin is the Director for English Language Learners(ELLs) at the Queens North Field Support Center within New York City Department of Education. Prior to her current position, she was the Director of Elementary Language and Literacy Development for ELLs and Chinese Language Programs in the Division of English Language Learners and Student Support (DELLSS) at Central for more than 10 years. Lisa began her career as an educator in 1996 at the Huai-Sheng Junior High School in Taipei, Taiwan. She started working for the New York City school system in 2001 and served as Chinese bilingual/ENL teacher, assistant principal, and administrator in various district- and centrally-based positions. Her focus has been on literacy, language, and instructional technology education for ELLs. Lisa has designed and written various instructional resources and assessments in different languages, supported different DOE internal and external stakeholders at all levels, and advocated for equal educational opportunities for ELLs, which she is committed to continuing to do. Lisa is also an adjunct faculty in the School of Education at Hunter College. She is fluent in Mandarin and Taiwanese. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Education from National Taiwan Normal University and Master’s degrees in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) from Adelphi University and School Administration and Supervision from Touro College.
