Hello, my name is Larry Federico and I have been a consultant in K-12 Education for over 14 years. My primary focus has been with developing strategies in the classroom for K-12 teachers and administrators in all disciplines. Although my strongest area of expertise lies with English Learner (EL) strategies, I have lately broadened my field to include SPED (Special Education) students. The past two years I have worked with border schools in Texas that have a large population of both EL and SPED students who have the added obstacles of learning English at the same time exhibiting learning disabilities. My work in Texas has provided both the teachers as well as students with the opportunity to succeed using specific Explicit Direct Instruction practices. The feedback from teachers have been extremely positive with statements such as: "This is the first time in eight years that I have had this type of success", and, "Our science proficiency has moved from the bottom of the district to number one!".
