I began my teaching career in 1984 as a 5th grade teacher in Wisconsin. While teaching in Wisconsin, I participated on various curriculum development committees and held various leadership roles, including; Student Council coordinator, school newspaper advisor, and was a D.A.R.E. Officer Training Team member. In 1997, my family moved to Arizona. After visiting several school districts, I concluded that the Cave Creek Unified School District was where I wanted my children to receive their educations. I returned to the classroom in 1999, and embarked on one of the most rewarding opportunities in my career, becoming a 1st grade teacher! I received my Early Childhood Endorsement in 2006 and a Gifted Education Endorsement in 2011. I am currently part of the CCUSD Technology Cadre and am passionate about providing children with opportunities to use technology in a purposeful manner in the classroom. I consider it an honor to be a part of the Chinese Immersion Program at Horseshoe Trails Elementary School.
