This session examines the research related to the essential qualities of critically conscious dual language educators (DLE). Participants engage in a critical examination of DLE through the four tenets of Ideology, Pedagogy, Access, and Equity. Tenets provide a critical framework for examination of classroom practices and school policies. Educators will go beyond the surface level goals of DLE and into a reflective analysis of their professional knowledge and expertise in attaining equity for all students.
